Fairchild Semiconductor has introduced the FMS6502, an 8-input, 6-output video switch matrix that offers cost effectiveness and space savings in consumer and industrial video applications such as automotive in-cabin entertainment systems, HDTVs, flat panel displays and Audio/Video receivers.
The FMS6502 offers more functions than comparable crosspoint video switch matrices by integrating analogue switch capability, input clamps, bias circuitry and cable drivers into a single device.
Consuming approximately half the board space of discrete solutions, the FMS6502 dramatically reduces part count while simplifying designs.
The second-generation FMS6502 offers the same high level of integration as Fairchild’s previous-generation video switch matrix technology while providing enhanced flexibility.
