DC/DC convertors take the middle ground
With the addition of nine new mid-power models, the 300V-input Mini family now comprises 17 DC/DC convertors with output voltages from 2 to 48V and power levels from 100 to 250W
: a 200W model at 3.3V output, a 300W model at 5V output, and 400W models at 12, 15, 24, 28, 36, and 48V output. The modules - which incorporate Vicor’s patented low-noise zero-current and zero-voltage switching (ZCS/ZVS) - are appropriate for offline systems with auto-ranging or PFC front ends in industrial or process control, distributed power, medical, ATE, communications, defence and aerospace applications.
With these new models, the 375V input Maxi family now comprises 17 models with output voltages from 2 to 54V DC and power levels from 160 to 600W.
The convertors operate from 375V nominal input, with an input range of 250 to 425V.
Efficiencies range up to 89% for the higher output voltages.

Mid-power convertors are cost-effective option
The 24V-input Mini family now comprises 16 models with output voltages from 3.3 to 48V DC and power levels from 100 to 200W
These models are available in five different environmental grades, with six different pin options and three baseplate options.
They can be configured in any combination in Vicor’s online custom module design system.
Designers who do not need the full-power capability of a 375V Maxi module now have the availability of a mid-power Maxi with all of the functionality and configurability of the high power models.
In addition, the low noise ZCS/ZVS greatly reduces the design effort and filtering costs required for power convertors to meet agency conducted emissions requirements.
The modules, which are available as RoHS compliant if required, are a compact 117 x 56 x 12.7mm in size, with a height above board of 10.9mm.
Vicor’s comprehensive line of power solutions includes modular, high-density AC/DC and DC/DC modules and accessory components, fully configurable AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, and complete custom power systems.
